Kenneth Harrison Blevins

Sgt. Kenneth Harrison Blevins, 61, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at his home. He was born March 25, 1948 in Norfolk, VA to Manley Wilson and Emma Page Blevins. Sgt. Blevins was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where he held many different positions. He was a graduate of Wake Forest University in 1984 with a BA degree. He retired from the Winston-Salem Police Department July 31, 1998 with 30 years of service. He was owner and operator of Hearthstone Art and Picture Framing. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his loving wife of 34 years, Elaine B. Blevins of the home; two sons, Matthew ""Matt"" Blevins and wife Denise of Nashville, TN and Timothy ""Tim"" Blevins of the home; one granddaughter, Reilly Tate Blevins; and one brother, James W. Blevins and wife Jacqueline of Salemburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Hochmuth and the Rev. Kenneth Eller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 13 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
