Kelly Dalton Davis

Kelvis has left the building. Mr. Kelly Dalton Davis, age 67, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1957, in Winston-Salem to the late Joseph Hill Davis and Shirley Fulk Davis. He is preceded in death by his brother Joey Davis and his beloved daughter, Jessica Hill Davis. He is survived by his wife Paula of the home and their rescued, slightly crazy dog Jake, as well as his in-laws, Roy and Rose May. Kelly graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1975 and Lees-McRae College, where he was elected Student Government President. With his leadership skills, charismatic personality, and love of people, how could he lose. Kelly had a varied working career, from being a cast tech at hospitals, to being an insurance agent and manager with Life of Georgia and Western Southern. He was currently employed with Restaurant Technologies. He made life-long friends and won numerous awards. Kelly, of course, loved the Tarheels and was thrilled to meet Roy Williams at an event several years ago. He also loved golf and played whenever he could. The day Grandview Golf Club closed was a sad day at the Davis home. Kelly was a musician and singer as well, from playing at Skate City as a teen to the Carolina Street Scene, and finally as a regular at Club Key West in Tampa, Florida and recording his own music. How do you recap the entire life of someone, adequately describe all that he was, begin to tell what he meant to those that loved him, in an obituary? I don’t think you can. I know his friends, family, cousins, co-workers, and golf buddies will all miss his kindness, his love of life, how he never met a stranger, and his ability to see the best in people. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2025, at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
