Mr. Kelly Atlee Chadwick, 83, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Bermuda Village Retirement Community. He was born February 5, 1929 in Forsyth County to the late Addie Carmichael Chadwick and Eugene Lynn Chadwick and grew up in Bethania. He graduated from Oldtown School in 1947. He was a member of Bethania Moravian Church most of his life. He joined New Philadelphia Moravian Church in 2003. He loved his Lord and served him with music. He sang in the church choir at both Bethania Moravian and New Philadelphia Moravian. Mr. Chadwick was in the Moravian band for 68 years and directed the band at Bethania Moravian for 30 years and served the church boards and many committees. He continued his love of band and choir at New Philadelphia Moravian Church totaling 68 years in each in the band and choir. He owned and operated Chadwick Jewelers in Thruway Shopping Center for 12 years, and subsequently owned and operated Town and Country Honda Motorcycles on Reynolda Road. Mr. Chadwick was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Wall Chadwick and a daughter, Melinda Chadwick, a brother, John Henry Chadwick, two sisters, Kathleen Hutchens and Edith Crews, and two brothers-in-law, J.L. Hamilton and W. T. Crews. Surviving are his wife, Donna Longworth Chadwick; two step-daughters, Vicki Wright and husband John of Pfafftown and Teresa Muse and husband Gene of Tarboro; four step-grandchildren, James C. Cain, Michelle Young and husband Les, Wilson Muse, Jr. and wife Alisa and Harrison Muse; three step-great-grandchildren, Cali Oehman, Landon Oehman, and Hayden Young; an expected step-great-granddaughter on May 1, 2012, Layla Muse; A sister, Jane Hamilton of Burlington and a brother-in-law, Edgar Hutchens of East Bend. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with the Dr. Rev. Worth Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethania Moravian Church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
