On Sat Oct 1, 2022, Susan “Kelli” Lawhon, after a 26-year battle with juvenile diabetes, went to be with Jesus. Her smile matched her courage, always present and unwavering. Her shear strength to fight this disease was beyond compare. She was born May 1, 1986, to Catherine Henley and Tony Lawhon in Forsyth County, NC. Kelli grew up in Davie County and attended Davie County schools and graduated from Davie County High School. She later received her Associates Degree in Radiology at the Living Arts Institute in Winston-Salem, NC. For Kelli, home was in Lewisville, NC, a short drive to those closest to her heart. Due to her charisma and infectious laughter, there was rarely a dull moment with Kelli around. She could find the hidden humor in any situation. She found joy in music, going to concerts, watching and playing sports, and spending time with family. Kelli was always up for adventure, whether it was a road trip, hiking, or kayaking, or spending the day at the lake. Kelli was her brother Dustin's keeper and his best friend, and he was hers. There were times people questioned if they were twins. She was also the funny and cool older sister to her younger siblings. As Kelli got older, her mother, Cathi became her best friend, her confidant, and her lifeline. Of all the titles: daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin, her favorite was mom to Charli Grace and Jack Jack. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Dustin Anthony Lawhon, Jr. and paternal grandmother, Carolyn Lawhon. She is survived by her daughter, Charli Grace; son, Jack Anthony; mother, Catherine “Cathi” Henley; stepfather, Steve Henley; father, Anthony “Tony” Lawhon (Dina); maternal grandfather, Dennis Dalton; maternal grandmother Pat Vierra; paternal grandfather, Claud Lawhon; brothers, Dustin Lawhon, Scott Lawhon and Joshua Henley; sister, Carol Mann. In addition, she is survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece and countless friends and other family members. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
