Ms. Kayla Marie Dudley, 27, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born June 30, 1990 in Forsyth County to Mr. Ronald Lewis Dudley and Rebecca Renee Dudley. Kayla was an avid writer and especially loved to write poems. She was an honor roll student and the 1st chair flute for her school's band. Kayla was one of four recipients of the Shelton Foundation Scholarship and was going to school to be a dental assistant. She is preceded in death by two grandfathers, Jonas Mefford and Jim Dudley (Elizabeth), three uncles, and one aunt. In addition to her parents, Kayla is survived by a grandmother, Thelma Roper; five aunts: Geneva, Linda (Bobby), Brenda, Geneva (Chris), and Frankie (Sidney); several cousins; five special friends: Bobby, Bri, Jessica, Becky, and Mr. Walker; her dog, Cera; and several other friends from South Stokes High School, class of 2008. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, March 9, 2018 at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday night at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors in the 7th floor cardiac unit at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
