KERNERSVILLE - Ms. Kay Plaster, 67, died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point surrounded by loving family members. Kay was born on October 6, 1946 to Mittie Gordon Mullis and the late David H. Mullis. She grew up in Brown Summit where she attended Monticello Elementary School and Northeast Guilford High School, graduating with 12 years of perfect attendance! Kay developed an exceptional work ethic as a young person after which, her work career spanned more than 45 years in data processing, including a number of years at Guilford Mills and more recently, the Amarr Company. Kay has been a resident of Kernersville for 43 years and was a member of the Kernersville Friends Meeting. She is survived by her devoted son, David Allen Plaster (wife, Ashley); grandchildren, Brice and Meagan Piatt, all of Kernersville; her mother, Mittie Gordon Mullis; one twin sister, Brenda Fay Mullis Williamson of Greensboro; one brother, David Gordon 'Buddy' Mullis (wife, Carole) of Brown Summit; three nieces, Michelle Hoopingarner (husband, Scott), Tabatha Radcliffe, and Brandie Johnson; three great nieces and three great nephews. A service of celebration of Kay's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. George 'Mac' McDowell officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends following the service at Kay's home, 210 Cliffwood Drive, Kernersville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center - 8th Floor and Hospice Home of High Point for the kindness and loving care during Kay's illness.
