Mrs. Katy Lee Hobson Burchette, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away June 22, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 29, 1919 in Yadkin County to the late David Winfield Hobson and Fannie Phillips Hobson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Raymond Burchette. Mrs. Burchette was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Mattie Sue Groce, Ella Phillips, Alma Carter, Lillian Warren, Lucille Adams, Ruth Spillman, Jasper Hobson, and Paul Hobson. She was a member of Forsyth Park Baptist Church and was retired from Hanes Knitting with 30 years of service. She will always be remembered as a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Mrs. Burchette is survived by her daughter, Wanda Stevens and husband Ken of Clemmons; two granddaughters, Donna Leinbach and husband Todd of Clemmons and Denna Little of Nashville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Tyler J. Leinbach and Andrew G. Leinbach; extended family members, Stacie Hobson, Opal Nelson, Jean Lumley, C.W. Burchette, Sam Hall, Jackie Burchette, Mitch and Robin Stevens, Clint Stevens, Lacy and Jason Azevado, and Lori and Tom Campbell. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, June 25, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. F. Eugene Sherrill and the Rev. John Krivsky officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
