Katie Hauser Felton

Katie Hauser Felton, 79, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday. September 22, 2008 at Clemmons Village I. She was born April 12, 1929 in Stokes County to Elmer Martin and Lucille Kiger Hauser. She was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was retired from Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County School system after twenty five years of service. Mrs. Felton was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years James D. Felton. Surviving are two sons, David M. Felton and wife, Debbie of Pfafftown, Timothy S. Felton and wife, Kim of Lewisville; a daughter, Amy F. Collins and husband, Barry of Winston-Salem; nine grandchildren; a brother, Joe Hauser and wife, Gretchen of Winston-Salem; a sister, Virginia H. Maultsby and husband, Wallace of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Ardmore United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kari Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 1315 Ashleybrook Drive, W-S, N.C. 27103. We would like to thank the staff of Clemmons Village I for the loving care and support they gave to our mother (""Katie Bell""). We would also like to express our appreciation to Sarah Key for her loyal companionship during mom' s illness.
