Kathy S. Hoke earned her wings after decades long battle with COPD with her best friend by her side. She was born in Clintwood, Virginia on Saturday, October 14, 1950 to the late Phylliss Jean Mullins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Carl Mullins and grandmother Hattie Hibbits, first husband Lenwood Hensley and her high school sweetheart and second husband Jerry William Fulk. Kathy lived in and around the Blue Ridge mountains her entire life settling down with a direct view of Sauratown Mountain in King, NC. She graduated from North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, NC in 1968 becoming a wife and mother soon after. She worked for many years in Winston-Salem for R.J. Reynolds in a variety of capacities over the years. One of her first jobs was at Sea-Land using early computing technology as a keypunch operator. She went on to work for several tobacco processing plants in the city including Whitaker Park, once considered the world's largest and most modern cigarette-manufacturing plant. Kathy was a kind and loving woman who never put herself above the needs of her family. Spending time with those she loved unconditionally, especially with her grandchildren, were truly the highlight of her life. She is survived by her son Ray Hensley, daughter Brandi Fulk and grandchildren Tai, Jordan, Zavier and Amanda. The family will receive friends 6 to 8pm Saturday July 16th, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
