Kathy Mabe Rector

Mrs. Kathy Mabe Rector, 77, of Lewisville, NC passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born April 30, 1946, to James Alex Mabe and Rose Mae Joines Mabe. Kathy grew up in Sparta, NC where she met her husband, Robert. They later moved to Lewisville, NC where they have lived for over 50 years. She was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church and a leader of TOPS NC #94 for many years. She had a certified in-home day care for over 40 years until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joan Nichols and a niece, Penny Walker. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Robert Rector; a son, Jaime Rector (Amy) of Benson, NC; three daughters, Kim Rector Carpenter (Scott) of Clemmons, NC, Jennifer Rector Maynard (Noah) of Trinity, NC and Kristina Rector Honaker of Lewisville, NC; five grandchildren, Amanda Pazarena, Katelyn Carpenter, Dakota Honaker, Jacob Carpenter and Saniyah White; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Jackson; a brother, Bill Mabe and several nieces, nephews and extended family. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
