Kathy Diane Darnell

Kathy Diane Darnell, 67, of Advance, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, after an extended illness. She was born June 21, 1941 in Forsyth County to Jack and Kathleen Darnell. Kathy retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 25 years of service. She was a long time member of Woodland Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian who loved God, her family and her two dogs, Pockets and Trixie. She is preceded in death by her parents and a nephew Frank Doss. Kathy is survived by four sisters, Linda (Franklin) Doss, Brenda (Mike) Newsome, Cindy (Steve) Vernon, Teresa (Wade) Atkins; two brothers, Lucky (Rhonda) Darnell and Joe (Pandora) Darnell; two uncles, Ray Beeson and Pete (Pauline) Darnell; twenty-one nieces and nephews and twenty-two great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00AM Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with her nephews, Pastor Andy Doss and David Darnell officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:30PM until 8:30PM Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Linda (Franklin) Doss.
