Yadkinville Mrs. Kathy Ann Williams Alspaugh, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1949 in Forsyth County to Ernest Ray and Mary Crater Williams. Mrs. Alspaugh graduated from West Forsyth High School and was a very active and devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for 41 years. She was a 33 year cancer survivor who was always caring for others and putting other people first. Mrs. Alspaugh enjoyed gardening, long walks in the woods with her dogs, and playing with her two precious grandsons who were the apple of her eye. She was a great friend who never met a stranger. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. Preceding her in death was her mother, Mary Crater Williams. Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Glenn Alspaugh; son, Matthew Alspaugh (Katie); two grandchildren, Jacob and Luke; brother, Sonny Williams (Janie); father, Ernest R. Williams; two aunts, Betty Crater and Mary Fishel; two nephews, Seth Williams (Emily) and Nathan Williams; also surviving is a great-niece, Aylabelle. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Rob Peters and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends 8:30-11:00 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Calvary Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 5000 Country Club Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
