Kathryn Ruth Bryant White

Kathryn Bryant White went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 4th, 2024. She was born on August 13th, 1931 in Pendleton, North Carolina, and grew up in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. She served her community and church in many aspects, and attended Chowan College, where she was the valedictorian of her class.  After college, she moved to Portsmouth, Virginia where she met the love of her life and soulmate, Clarence "Bitsy" White, and they were married one year later in 1952.  After living in Texas and Florida, North Carolina became her home once again.  Kathryn was a loyal servant to God and was faithful in her service.  She was a talented artist, remarkable seamstress, unbelievable cook and voracious reader.  She was diligent in studying the history of our country and stayed aware of all current events up until her passing. She was a loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.  She led her life with thoughtfulness and concern for others, as she purposefully put others’ needs before her own. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, mother, Ruth Morris Woodard Bryant; father, Walter Cype Bryant, and younger brother W. C. Bryant.  She was survived by her cherished husband, Clarence Linwood "Bitsy" White, for 19 days and is now survived by her son, Clarence Linwood White, Jr., his wife, Patty, her daughter, Brenda Ruth White Bohbot and her husband, Allen.  She leaves behind four loving grandchildren; Lauren Ashton White, Justin Tyler White, Logan Joshua Bohbot, Remi Gabrielle Bohbot, as well as one brother, Billy Bryant. A joyful life that was well lived, and a soul that will be missed forever by so many.

Clarence Linwood "Bitsy" White went to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024.  He was born on March 6th, 1931 in Portsmouth Virginia where he grew up active in his community and local church. He played on various sports teams and was the local kid who always put his family and neighbors first.  Right after high school, Bitsy was recruited by and trained with the Pittsburgh Pirates in the MLB.  He met the love of his life and soulmate, Kathryn Bryant, while in Virginia, and was married to her one year later in 1952.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force where he was named airman of the month and was honorably discharged after four years of service.  After living in Texas and Florida, he and his wife, Kathryn, made North Carolina their home, where he quickly became a top producer for the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) which later became known as Kraft.  Bitsy was fiercely loyal and dedicated to his faith and love of God.  He was a proud and dutiful Mason for over 60 years and served as a Deacon at the Lewisville Baptist Church, where he cared for others and ensured the members were well served.  He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Kathryn Bryant White; loving parents, mother, Francis Naomi Montaque White; father, Amos Ellsworth White; brother, Paul White; brother, Robert White, and sister, Jackie White Halley.  He leaves behind his namesake son, Clarence Linwood White Jr., his wife Patty, daughter Brenda Ruth White Bohbot, her husband Allen, four amazing grandchildren; Lauren Ashton White, Justin Tyler White, Logan Joshua Bohbot and Remi Gabrielle Bohbot, as well as one brother, Wayne White. A dedicated, loyal life that was well lived, and who will be missed forever by many. He is now in heaven with the wife he adored and cherished beyond measure, and a God he served faithfully.

Kathryn and Bitsy found one another at the age of 20...loved one another unconditionally... and could not live without one another. They are together for eternity.
