Kathryn Sue Wilson Peatross, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Sue was born April 20, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Reuben Wilson and Nell Hunter Wilson. Sue attended Rural Hall Elementary School, Rural Hall High School and after graduating from Meredith College in 1956 she married Thomas Edgar Peatross on August 25, 1956. Sue was a dedicated homemaker and an all sports mom. She actively supported hers sons and grandchildren in many sports, including football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, tennis, karate, volleyball, lacrosse and baseball. In addition, Sue was an avid supporter of Winston-Salem Tennis Inc. She volunteered countless hours to tennis events and everyone still remembers the lunches Sue prepared for workers during tennis tournaments. Sue enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and friends, hosting birthday parties for her grandchildren and vacationing with her family on their annual beach trip. Sue is survived by her husband, Thomas Edgar Peatross of Winston-Salem; her sons: David Michael Peatross and wife Karyn of Maryland, Mark Wilson Peatross and wife Karen of Winston-Salem, Craig Wilson Peatross and wife Susan of Winston-Salem and Alan Wilson Peatross and wife Tina of Kernersville; her Grandchildren: Brett Thomas Peatross, Meredith Ashley Peatross, John Wilson Peatross, Evan Wilson Peatross, Sarah Nicole Peatross, Henley Louise Peatross, William Brown Peatross, Jack Wilson Peatross, Jacob Dean Peatross and Carter Wilson Peatross; her sister Marjorie Wilson Elinor and husband Dr Robert Elinor and niece Ashley Hunter Elinor and Kimberly Peatross. A private grave side service will be held followed by a memorial service conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, at Augsburg Lutheran Church. The family will receive visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home located at 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. The family is forever grateful to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center and to the Nurses and staff in the Intensive Care Units and the Ninth Floor of the Forsyth Medical Center.
