Kathryn Lucille Shinault Ogburn

Mrs. Kathryn Lucille Shinault Ogburn of Rural Hall quietly passed away at her home on Friday, May 11, 2012. Mrs. Ogburn was born April 5, 1929 in Ivanhoe, VA to Early Malcolm and Sybil Campbell Shinault. She was a member of Rural Hall Church of Christ. Mrs. Ogburn was also the owner and operator of Lum's Cafeteria in Stanleyville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ogburn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ogburn, and nine sisters. The most important thing in Kat's life was her family. She was a very loving mother, granny and great-grandmother. Kat also loved dancing and enjoyed socializing with her many friends. Kat was a diligent and hard worker, and she instilled that same work ethic and determination in each of her children. Surviving are her children: Gary Ogburn, Pat (Clint) Ingram, Linda Meadows, Charlie (Linda) Clayton, Pam (Danny) Tolbert, and Robin (Jeff) Chunn. Her thirteen grandchildren: Jill Alcala, Clinton Ingram, Jr., Michael (Misty) Meadows, Ryan Meadows, Wendy Meadows, Angela (Jeff) Cope, Chad Clayton, Justin (Stacy) Tolbert, Neil (Amy) Tolbert, Brooke Tolbert, Ashley, Josh, and Katie Chunn. She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, including her special caregiver, Donna King. Funeral services for Mrs. Ogburn will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Rural Hall Church of Christ in Rural Hall. Officiating for the service will be Walter Brewer, Minister and John Snow, Minister. Burial will immediately follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home (Rural Hall location) Monday evening May 14th from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
