Mrs. Kathleen Dooley Roscana, 62, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Kathleen was born in Limestone, Maine, to James Henry Dooley Jr. and Rita Murtha Dooley. After graduating from Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, Kathy attended Appalachian State University. She previously owned and managed the Terrace Theater, Thunderbird Drive-In, and the Lexington Drive-In. Kathy earned her nursing degree from Winston- Salem State University. She then worked at Rowan Memorial Medical Center for 5 years before working at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for 15 years. Kathy was a wonderful mother and a champion for her son and disability rights. She enjoyed making memories with family and friends at home, at the beach, and at theme parks. Kathy loved to drive and was notorious for unexpected detours to the Blue Ridge Parkway and South of the Border, regardless of her destination. She was one of her nieces’ and nephews’ favorite aunts. Along with her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, David Roscana; son, Bryan George Dooley; sisters, Margaret Isley (Frank), Dr. Mary Anne Dooley (John Morrison), Dr. Elizabeth Bell (Daniel), and Alma Marshall; brother, James R. Dooley (Jill); and several special nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held 11:00AM Friday, April 23, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Committal will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons, NC.
