Kathleen Coleman Helsabeck

Mrs. Kathleen Coleman Helsabeck, 94, of Thomasville, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Piedmont Crossing Retirement Center. She was born in Randolph County on December 24, 1921 to Willie Odell and Eva Coleman. She graduated from John W. Hanes High School and worked for Deal, Hutchins, and Minor law firm as a paralegal for over 40 years. Mrs. Helsabeck was a member of Reynolda Presbyterian Church for over 40 years, where she taught Bible study classes and a children's Sunday school class. She moved to Thomasville in 2012 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter. Mrs. Helsabeck was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Doris Coleman Paynter. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Helsabeck, a granddaughter, Dawn Sheek; a twin sister, Pauline Coleman Pegram. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 12:00 pm Noon at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Hon. Gordon Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or to Piedmont Crossing, 100 Hedrick Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360. The family would like to thank the staff of Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community, especially the Assisted Living staff for all their love and support and Hospice of Davidson County for their efforts to make this time easier for us all.
