Kathleen Grant Alexander

Mrs. Kathleen Grant Alexander, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Alexander was born in Winston-Salem on April 23, 1936 to Claude Henry and Nannie Lou Dunn Grant. She retired from Roses with 12 years of service and was a member of Griffith Baptist Church. Mrs. Alexander loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She truly enjoyed her home in North Carolina, but loved taking trips to the beach with her loving family. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, David Kern Alexander; her parents; a sister, Emily Wilkins; a grandson, Grant Alexander and a nephew, Michael Smiley. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Millirons and Kathy Shelton and husband John, all of Winston-Salem; a son, Tracy Alexander and wife Reesa of Yadkinville; four sisters, Jo Denton of Lexington, Jean Land of Lancaster, KY; Betty Pinnix, and Rosa Cranfill, both of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Griffith Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. A committal service will be conducted Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at Parklawn Memorial Park.
