Katherine Tucker Parrish

Katherine Tucker Parrish, 91, left her earthly body to rest in the arms of her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ on November 11, 2011. She was born on June 24, 1920, to George Edward and Mattie Hauser Tucker. A woman with a deep, abiding faith in God, she was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church for 91 years. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Gilliam Parrish; her daughter Linda Kay Ferrara, and nine sisters and brothers. Surviving are her son Michael and wife Vickie; four granddaughters: Sharon and husband John Valley, Karolyn Ferrara, Michele Parrish, and Ashley Parrish; two great grandchildren, Kaylyn and Ryan Valley: brother, Harry and wife Murlean Tucker; sisters-in-law: Margaret Tucker, Frankie Parrish and Mary Stieffen; faithful friends: Betty Hoover, Joyce Timmons, Sandra Bowman and many others. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, November 14, 2011 at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Howard L. Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thanks to Meals on Wheels, Hospice, Dr. Valerie Wilson, and Linda and Robin Walker for the loving care they provided.
