Kate Long Price

Mrs. Kate Long Price, 90, entered into her heavenly home Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Kate was born February 4, 1925 to Ira and Alma Nading Long. A longtime member of Advent Moravian Church, she was a member of the O.M. Whitsett Class and Senior Friends. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and especially knitting dishcloths. In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Price, grandson, Shaun Ayers, sisters, Ruth Bernard and Blanche Haupt, and brother, John Long.

Kate is survived by her daughters, Janice Austin (Edward) of Matthews, Avis Gray (Joey) of Clemmons, Lori Price of the home, and Mary Ayers (Timothy) of Lexington; sons, Timothy Price (Janet) of Stokesdale and Andrew Price of East Bend; sisters, Nell Anton (Nick) of Pekin, IL and Anne Craver of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.

A celebration of Kate's life will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 2pm at Advent Moravian Church with Rev. Tim Sapp officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
