Karl Edward Mcfrederick

Mr. Karl Edward McFrederick, 58, of Advance, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.  Karl was born in Portage County, Ohio on March 20, 1963.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Karl was a chef for many years, spending most of his career at Akron University in Akron, Ohio.  In his later years, Karl worked at Horn’s Truck Stop in Mocksville, NC.  He was a kind and gentle soul and always willing to help anyone out, especially the less fortunate.  Karl was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Knight McFrederick; one sister, Christina Lynn James and one brother, Mark McFrederick.  He is survived by his children, Samantha McFrederick (Mark) and Kyle McFrederick; his father, Charles “Charlie” Edward McFrederick; four sisters, Senya Grubbs (Ronnie), Sabrina Smith (Keith), Heather Smith (Ronnie), and Darlene Rodgers (Jeff); one brother, Robert McFrederick (Michelle); and his wife, Shelly Monroe McFrederick.  A service to celebrate Karl’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
