Karis Amanda Winter, 7, passed away unexpectedly and was received into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 6, 2009. She was born August 11, 2001 in Landstuhl, Germany to Jerald and Monica Winter. Karis loved art, gymnastics, clogging, clay sculpting, swimming and had a genuine love for the bible. Her bright eyes, big smile, belly laughs and pranks brought a smile to all who knew her. Surviving are her parents, Jerald and Monica Winter of Winston-Salem; younger sister, Olivia Winter; paternal grandparents, Donald and Mary Winter of Gratz, PA; maternal grandparents, John and Sheila Rinehart of Shady Spring, W. VA; also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Redeemer Presbyterian Church with Rev. Hunter Dockery officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
