Karen Smith

Ms. Karen Gail Smith, 76, of Pfafftown, passed away at her home on April 10, 2023. She was born on March 29, 1947, in Forsyth County to Nellie Esther Smith Browne and Howard Ray Browne. Karen was a graduate of North Surry High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant serving in home health care. Her puppy dog, “Bella” was beloved to her, and she had a heart for animals. She leaves behind her loving son, Brian Yarbrough (Darlene); sister, Pat Simmons; nieces and nephews, Dee, Tam, Rick and their families; cousins, Toni Runci and Mike Chrisman (Susie); and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104 to honor Karen’s love of dogs.  A private family burial will be held at Beck’s Baptist Church Cemetery.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Ms. Smith.
