Karen Bolejack Parks

Mrs. Karen Bolejack Parks, 63, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully Sunday, December 13, 2009 at her home after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Everette E. Bolejack and Margaret Watts Bolejack of Stokes County. Mrs. Parks graduated from King High School and attended East Carolina University. She was a teacher at Salem Baptist Christian School, and also helped establish and worked at Parks Insurance Company. Surviving are her loving husband of 25 years, Everette G. ""E.G."" Parks, Jr.; her loving daughter, Brooke Gordon and grandson Adam Gordon, both of Charlotte; her sisters, Jenny B. Webb of Greenwood, SC and Donna Wardlaw (Hal) of Lexington; her nieces, Jennifer Webb of Greenville, SC, Stephanie Elobt (Keola) of Pondra Vedra, Florida, Lindsey Webb of Charleston, SC and Lisa Parks Stewart of Winston-Salem; her mother-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Parks; brother-in-law, Ronnie Parks (Phyllis), all of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Parks was a christian woman who loved her family, her caring friends, and her music. Family and many friends were always welcomed into her home. A funeral service will be conducted at Poplar Springs Church of Christ in King at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18 with Pastor Ralph Sproles and Pastor Robert Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Side Baptist Church, 595 S. Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would especially like to express their love and gratitude to so many friends for their loving and giving acts of kindness during this illness.
