Karen Cornelia Overman

Oak Ridge - Mrs. Karen Cornelia Barrow Overman passed away April 17, 2015 at her home. She was born August 20, 1942 in Guilford Co. to the late Flora Nelson Barrow and Woodrow Gideon Barrow, Sr. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, and served as a Sunday School Teacher, and a former choir member. Mrs. Overman was an avid reader and gardener. She was preceded in death by, two brothers, Max Daniel Barrow, and Woodrow Gideon Barrow, Jr. and a sister, Bedie Beth Yates.

Surviving are; her husband of 42 years, Ray Overman, daughter; Leah Overman Craven and husband James, two grandchildren; Sullivan Ray Craven, and Samuel Gideon Craven, two step-grandchildren; Andrew Micheal Craven, and Kaleigh Lorraine Craven, two brothers; Ted Nelson Barrow, and Phillip Moses Barrow, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday at Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge with Dr. Roy L. Carter and Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday evening at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
