Karen Mcwilliams

Mrs. Karen Lynn McWilliams, 56, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021.  She was born September 6, 1965, in Kern County, California to Rachel Tucker Edwards and the late John Baker Mecum.  Karen’s big loving heart was received by everyone who knew her.  She loved the beach and spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren, which she labeled the greatest accomplishment of her life.  In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles McWilliams; first spouse, Larry Evans; and brother, David Mecum.  In addition to her mother, Karen is survived by her two daughters, Amber Evans Ayers and Krista McWilliams; three grandchildren: Mackenzie Ayers, Evan Ayers, and River Perry; eight siblings: Tracy Gagner, Kenneth Mecum, Eddie Mecum, Sandra Bledsoe, Tina Ragan, Lori Vest, Robin Vantorre, and Cheryl Mayes; special niece and nephew, Crystal McBride and Chris Mecum; stepmother, Pat Mecum; and many beloved cousins and friends.  A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday December 11th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Scott A. Jackson officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Thomason, Hannah Creed, NP and all of Salem Chest Specialists for their special and loving care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Brenner’s Children’s Hospital.
