Kandice Hanzely

Kandice Hanzely, known to most as "Kandy", passed away on June 19, 2018, at the age of 60 years. Kandy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Gregory, by her children Justin, Nicholas and wife Michelle, and Megan and her granddaughter, Lexis. Kandy will also be fondly remembered by her brother Todd, his wife Kelly, niece Andrea, and family friend, Sarah Troyan Shore as well as the endless number of loved ones she leaves behind. Kandy was predeceased by her parents Betty Lou Hughes and Stanley Nicholas Katz. Kandy had an artistic personality from early on, participating in the high school chorus as well as a member of KID. She was a Marine Mom, Penn State Mom, caretaker for her family, friends, animals and even strays. Kandy prided herself on maintaining her garden and was a master of all things essential oils. Services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 4:00 p.m., at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. In lieu of flowers, we ask that those who desire to do so make a donation in memory of Kandy to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/give.
