KERNERSVILLE-K. Dorsett Jones, 92, our loving father passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. He was born November 14, 1916 in Guilford Co. to the late Virgil Oran and Mary Curtis Gordon Jones. Dorsett was best known for his farming. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge. A graduate of Kernersville High School, Dorsett held the State Championship high-jump record for several years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pegram Jones; two brothers, Virgil and Manuel Jones; and one sister, Avahelene Jones. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara J. Bull (Ned), Martha Paton-Foures (Charlie) all of Kernersville, and Connie J. Bowlin (Ed) of Griffin, GA; one sister, Mary Davis Easter (Bill) of Cary; six grandchildren, Pamela Bull Idol (Gary), Dona Bull Blackwell (Forest), Erin Paton, Melisa Foures, Bret Bowlin (Cindy) and Toni Mason; ten great-grandchildren, CJ Idol, Lee, Kari and Nicole Blackwell, Breann Bollinger (Brannon), Trip Mason, Catherine and Sam Bowlin, Tavis and Haven Williamson. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge with the Rev. Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive from 6-8 pm Friday, July 17, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
