Clemmons Mrs. June Miller Johnson, 91, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Brookstone Terrace in Clemmons, NC. Mrs. Johnson was born in Surry County, NC June 18, 1922 to Luther Smith Dixon and Ethel May Bowman. She was a graduate of Forsyth Technical Institute with a degree in Nursing (Licensed Practical Nurse), she had a passion for patients in critical condition and used her nursing skills to help those in the Emergency Room, Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units at Baptist Hospital for 25 years. She used her passion and drive for excellence in the nursing field to be an advocate for her patients when they were unable to do so for themselves. She always ensured her patients had the highest level of care and was often assigned to some of the more challenging cases due to these qualities. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and husband. She is survived by three daughters, Ethel Mae Miller Peaston, Julia Miller Taylor, and Brenda Miller Crater; two sons, Julius Wesley ""Wes"" Miller III and Mark Luther Miller; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Pastor Tim Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice Care Team who helped to comfort our Mother during her last few days.
