Julia May Burger

Mrs. Julia ""May"" Nixon Burger passed away Friday afternoon February 17, 2017 at Carteret Health Care. She was born in Forsyth County, on November 16, 1927, to the late Wyley Nixon and Chloe Ray Nixon. May was a member of Robin Hood Baptist Church. She loved to Crochet, Knit, and visiting the beach. May enjoyed gardening, and cooking big meals for all the family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Burger; two daughters Nancy Lee Burger and Sharon Burger Sweatland; three brothers; and two sisters. Julia is survived by four daughters Barbara Sharp (John), Emily Mosley (Rick), Julia Purdy (Rick), Margaret Laudien (Sven); a son Roy Lee Burger, Jr. (Barbara); thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday, February 20, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.
