Mrs. Judy Burcham Halsey, 67, passed away September 5, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 12, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Nannie Elizabeth Joyce and Walter Edgar Burcham. Mrs. Halsey was employed with the North Carolina Division of Veteran's Affairs with over 40 years of service. She was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and was widely known for her favorite saying, ""ESAD"". Surviving are her husband, Donald R. Halsey; of the home; two daughters, Cheryl R. Billings and her significant other, Scott Hobberchalk of Wallburg, and Karen Tharington and husband Keith of Pfafftown; two granddaughters, Jennifer V. Freeman and husband Brian, and Donna Vernon and significant other Michael Cooke. Four great grandchildren Allyse Freman, Landon Cooke, Zoey Cooke, Logan Freeman and anxiously awaiting the arrival of her fifth great grandchild, Wylie Cole Cooke; special pet, Ben; grand pups; Scrappy Doo, Poncho, Sammy, Max and Rusty. A funeral service will be conducted 12:00PM Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Joe Long officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Gardens.
