Judy Carol Brown Gordy

Mrs. Judy Carol Brown Gordy, of King, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Winston-Salem on January 13, 1946, the daughter of the late Margie Chambers Brown and Hobert Wesley Brown, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Guy Travis Gordy and an infant son, Guy Travis, Jr. Judy is survived by her son, Jeffrey and wife Tammy, her granddaughters, Sophie and Maggie and stepson, Will Medley, all of Stoneville, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Hobert Brown, Jr. and his wife Mary Anne, and a nephew, Steve and his wife Danielle. Judy graduated from North Forsyth High School and enjoyed the fellowship lunches with her former classmates. She was retired from Sara Lee Corp and was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Reverend Dave Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Germanton. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Crestwood Baptist Church, 530 Motor Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27015. The family expresses deep appreciation for the attentive and loving care rendered to Judy by the CICU staff.
