Mrs. Judith “Judy” Effler Driscoll, 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 31, 1941 in Mullins, West VA to John Theodore Effler and Ruby Williams Effler. Mrs. Driscoll was a member of WinstonSalemFirst Church for over 30 years where she loved to sing in the choir. Judy served her church as a secretary, in the drama productions, the quilting ministry and in the Legacy Ministry. She built many lasting relationships with her smile and personality and was an avid lover of nature. Her mission in life was to show the love of Jesus by helping others as well as being her childrens’ prayer warrior in life. Judy was diagnosed with ALS in December of 2020 and loved life and each ability she had and wanted her friends and family to treasure life everyday and not take a day for granted. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Byron Effler. Surviving are her husband, Harry Driscoll; seven children, Sabrina Lawless, Cheri Collins, Shelly Furchert (Mike), Wendi Roberson (Tim), Michael Driscoll (Paula), Stephen Driscoll and Lori King (David); nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Dave Effler (Rita) and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at WinstonSalemFirst Church with Dr. Mike Rakes and Pastor Elwood Rakes officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. The family would like thank Trellis Supportive Care/ Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care and compassion of Judy. Memorials may be made to The ALS Association North Carolina Chapter, 4 N.
