Judith Ann Mitchell

Mrs. Judith Ann Mitchell, 79, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was born on December 19, 1941 in Momence, Illinois to Arthur and Cassie Race. Judith was married to Charlie Joe Mitchell on July 28, 1961 and they lived in Momence, IL for most of their lives. She resided in Clarksville, TN from 2004 to 2007. Judith then moved with family to Lexington, NC in 2007 to present. She was a hospice volunteer and an active member of North Davidson Lions Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Joe Mitchell and son-in-law, Matthew Nagel. Surviving are her daughters, Julie Ford and husband, Ed Ford of Crete, IL, and Rhonda L. Nagel of Lexington, NC; son, Preston S. Mitchell and wife, Lasa Mitchell of Cache, OK; grandchildren, Patrick and Anthony Doud, Matthew, Christopher, and Jonathan Nagel, and Kaila and Brooke Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Welcome in Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Grant Park, IL at a later date.
