KERNERSVILLE – Judith Annette Bryant Hulgan, 79, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at her home. Judith was born on April 15, 1942 in McDowell County, WV to Deward and Georgia Fitzwater Bryant. She retired from ITW Texwipe. Judith loved history and was an avid reader, as was evident by her large book collection. Judith enjoyed painting, gardening and working in her flowers. She shared her love of children by teaching Sunday School at her church while living in Chicago. Her biggest love was for her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a caring and fun-loving attitude and was always available if anyone had a need for anything. Judith was generous with her concern for others, putting everyone above herself, even in her last days.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Morris Weldon Hulgan, Sr.; and a brother, Jimmy Bryant (Molly).
Surviving are her three children, Morris Weldon Hulgan, Jr. (Michele), Delores Annette Hulgan Beck, and Deward Ray Hulgan; five grandchildren, Chris Perdue, Phillip Hulgan (Brandy), Kristy Danielson (Mike), Paige Lester (Jacob), and Samantha Hulgan; nine great grandchildren, Jackson Danielson, Waylon Danielson, Taylor Hulgan, Addison Hulgan, Jacob Lester, Mackinlee Danielson, Mikey Danielson, Haven Lester, and Miles Lester; three siblings, Robert Bryant (Syreda), Karen Ogbern (Ed), and Sandra Toth (Ronnie); six nieces and nine nephews; and extended family, Dannielle Baublitz, Alexia Baublitz, Noah Baublitz, and Cristian Ezekiel Betancourt.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Clifford Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery.
In hopes that her cancer journey would save the life of others, memorials may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Health (Brenner Children’s Hospital Childhood Cancer on memo line), Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, P.O. Box 571021, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021.
