Mrs. Judie Hardin Jennings, 80, began her eternal life to sit at the feet of Jesus on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on June 27, 1943, in Ashe County, N.C., the daughter of the late Monterville Millard Hardin and Jean Perkins Hardin. Judie received her diploma from North Carolina Baptist Hospital Nursing School and was a registered nurse. She was a fearless Christian, prayer warrior and a member of First Christian Church of King. She worked as a public health nurse for many years and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend, who will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her. Judie loved and prayed hard for everyone. She spoke life into every situation. In addition to her parents, Judie was preceded in death by a special niece, Donna Ashburn Bryant, whom she loved as her own daughter. Judie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Aubrey Jennings; her two daughters, Brandie Jennings Jones (Barry) and Christie Jennings Jackson (Robert); her son, Aubrey Chadwick Jennings (Allison); and eight grandchildren, Taylor Jones Spease (John), Brittney Anne Jones, Micaela Grace Christian (Perry), Robert Isaiah Jackson (Teyanni), Christopher Elijah Jackson, Piper Marie Jennings, Aubrey Cohen Jennings, and Jesse Abram Jennings. Judie is also survived by her three sisters, Martha Hardin Sloan (Steve), Carrol Hardin Boles (Larry) and Monty Hardin O’Brien (David); and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service celebrating Judie’s life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Glen VanMeter and Pastor Bob Lindsay officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Legion Post#290 Ladies Auxiliary.
