VADEN - RURAL HALL Mrs. Juanita Frances Simmons Vaden passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at Silas Creek Manor. She was born May 11, 1921 in Stokes County to the late Samuel Elisha Simmons and Maggie Tilley Simmons. Mrs. Vaden was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville for over 70 years. She was active in many areas of the church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Vaden and her husband operated Stanleyville Florist for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Vaden had a kind and generous spirit. She was always there to help anyone in need. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaden was preceded in death by her husband, Nera Edgar Vaden; half sister, Ella Smith; half brother, Tom Simmons; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Vaden. Mrs. Vaden is survived by her daughter, Judy Tuttle (Sam) of Rural Hall; two sons, Donald Vaden (Pat Martin) of Rural Hall and Kenneth Vaden of Elon; eight grandchildren: Bradley Vaden, Tammy Montgomery (Brad), Tracy Vaden, Cray Vaden, Valerie Vaden, Kendra Sharp, Richard Tuttle (Angelia), and Kimberly Shotwell (Rodney); nine great-grandchildren: Faryl Alnsfaily (Kassem), Justin Vaden, Amanda Sharp, Kyle Bushman, Ellen Gutierrez, Luke Tuttle, Reed Tuttle, Evan Shotwell, and Joshua Shotwell; great, great-grandchild, Skylee Vaden; two sisters, Edith Vaden of Rural Hall and Pauline Tilley of Clemmons; and also several nieces, nephews and other extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and the Rev. Mark Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
