Juanita Jean Parks

PFAFFTOWN-Mrs. Juanita Jean Parks, 81, of Pfafftown, NC, passed into heaven on November 2, 2012 at home with her dear family by her side after a battle with cancer. Juanita was born on July 2, 1931 in Imlay City, Michigan to William and LaVerna Hill. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Hill and William Hill. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Vaughn Parks; a daughter, Yvonne Friedmann of Lum, Michigan; two sons, Gary Parks of Winston-Salem and Norris Parks of Pfafftown, NC; grandchildren, Alecia Parks of Brown City, Michigan, Magen Ruby (Ben) of Fort Campbell, Kentucky , Gabriel Friedmann (Dustin) of Austin, Texas and Julia Miller (Allen) of Pontiac, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Beau Cournaya, Dylan Ruby, Piper Friedmann, Reece Parks, and Cyprus Friedmann; one brother, Gerald Hill (Linda) of Lum, Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Larance Parks of Beaufort, South Carolina and Graham Parks (Anna) of Bertram, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Juanita was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Pfafftown, NC. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church in Pfafftown, NC with Rev. Zachary King officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Friendship Baptist Church, 6120 Old Yadkinville Rd., Pfafftown, NC 27040 for the furtherance of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The family would like to express a special thanks to Jenn Haag, Barbara Moore, and all of the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County for the care they provided to Juanita during her illness.
