Joyce Lanier

Joyce Lanier, 89 years young as she would say, passed away on August 30, 2023. She was born in Highland Park, Michigan and married her loving husband Carey Lanier of Portland, Tennessee in 1956 for a journey together of 68 years.

Joyce and Carey have been members of the Calvary Baptist Church community since moving to the Winston-Salem area in 1977.

Through her gracious presence she touched many. Joyce loved to spend time with family and friends spreading joy, love and laughter. She had a wonderful sense of humor that she often shared with others through a good story or joke that would always bring a smile.

She is survived by her husband Carey Lanier, her son Stephen Michael Lanier and wife, Biljana, her daughter Julie Ann Hobbs and husband, Robert, and her grandchildren Ana, Marco and Katarina Lanier and Megan Hobbs.

A private graveside service was held over the weekend.
