Joyce W. Keith

Joyce W. Keith, 83, died peacefully at 3:15PM, June 20, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center where she was surrounded by her husband and friends, Sarah Richardson, Rev. Ty Talton and hospital Chaplain Sheree Jones. She had been ill for several months. Joyce worked at Forsyth Technical College for 20 years and retired as the comptroller for the school. She was born in Dyer County, TN to Pauline and Austin Lee Walker. Her mother died at an early age and she moved with her father to Muskegon, MI. There she met her husband, Jim Keith and after a few months they married. This past February 22, they celebrated their 63 wedding anniversary. Joyce and Jim had 3 children; Linda Ray who died 2 years ago and two boys; Randy Keith of San Diego and Wayne Keith and wife Robin of Washington State. She leaves behind her husband, 2 boys, her granddaughter Kaitlin and husband Mike Forsyth and her two great grandchildren; Haley and Cooper Forsyth. Joyce was very active in her church, Ardmore Baptist Church, where she was a member for 60 years. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Ardmore Baptist Church with Dr. Don Gordon, Rev. Ty Talton and Rev. Christa Warise officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. The family will receive friends after the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Ardmore Baptist Church Building Fund, 501 Miller St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
