Joyce "Joy" Marie Wood Keith

Joyce “Joy” Wood Keith, age 93, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Joy was born the sixth of 10 children in Russell County, VA on May 10, 1931, to the late Samuel McCall Wood and Ordie Hicks Wood. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel, and her son, Robert Duane Keith.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda; and sons, Garry (Rebecca), Terry (Cathy) and Jeff (Sandra). Also surviving are six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many friends, too numerous to count.

A private graveside inurnment will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Parklawn Memorial Park.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Millhaven Landing Clubhouse off Griffith Rd. from 2pm to 6pm. Friends and family are invited to share their favorite stories about Joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to a favorite charity of your choice.
