Joyce Ann Black Hooper

Ms. Joyce Ann Black Hooper, 54, of Lexington died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at her home. She was born September 15, 1960 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late, Carney and Florence Whitt Black. Ms. Hooper was a 1978 graduate of Parkland High School and worked for the Winston-Salem Police Department as an ID Technician before becoming a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. Survivors include one daughter, Heather Hooper (John Matthew Davis) of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Colton Davis of Winston-Salem; one sister, Janet Tesh and husband, Jimmy of Lexington; and two nephews, Brad Tesh and wife, Amanda and their children, Jaxson and Madison of Winston-Salem and Adam Tesh and wife, Jessie and their son, Parker of Raleigh. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 PM at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brenner Children's Hospital, 301 Medical Park Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
