Joyce Cox Hambright

Mrs. Joyce Lee Cox Hambright, age 81 of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Joyce was born in Lee County, July 2, 1934 to Atlas Humble Cox and Ollie Roberta Smith Cox. She retired from Harris Teeter with twenty five plus years of service in the Health and Beauty Care Department. Joyce was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her father, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Quay Elmer ""Mo"" Hambright and daughter-in-law, Harriet Carter.
Joyce is survived by three daughters; Janet (Lonnie) McKay of Sanford, Patty (Jack ""Bo"") Waddell of King and Pamela (Steve) Monds of Durham. One son, Tommy Cecil ""TC"" (Judy) Carter, Jr. of Sanford. Fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five step-children, eleven step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren. Her mother, Ollie Smith Cox of Sanford. Two brothers; Gene (Martha) Cox of Greensboro and Joey (Sherry) Cox of Tobaccoville. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Hambright will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Pastor Gary Styers. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 8th from 12:30 P.M. until time of the funeral service.
