Mrs. Joyce Sexton Hampton, 81, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her daughter's residence. She was born September 30, 1931 in Asheville, NC to John and Hannah Wilson Sexton. Mrs. Hampton loved her family, gardening, socializing, and listening to country music. She was retired from Stroh's after 10 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William ""Billy"" Hampton; a daughter, Tanya'; Lynch; three brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Rena'; Dancy (Bob) and Cindy Flanner (Rick); five grandchildren, Michael and Steve Dancy, Megan Chaney, Nicholas Flanner and Nikki Parsons; seven great grandchildren, Mason, Caeden, and Aubrey Dancy, Patrick, Conner and Rylee Chaney, and Liam Flanner; two brothers, Wayne and John Sexton; two sisters, Connie Faye Brinkley and Alma Lee Frisbee; and a special niece, Kay Blackwell. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Webb officiating. Entombment will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
