Joyce Ann Tanner Baker, 70, of Winston-Salem and Auburndale, FL, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2008. She was born in Seneca County, Ohio on October 25, 1937 to John Nicholas and Nina Hoy Tanner. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and celebrating holidays, especially Halloween. She always had a smile on her face. She retired from Sun Trust Bank in Auburndale, FL with 21 ½ years of service. She also retired from Michael's Arts and Crafts in Winston-Salem. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Hoy Tanner and a sister, Mary Alice Gernert. She is survived by 3 children, Debi Ann Apathy and her husband Michael K., Rodney Martin Baker and his wife Connie and Rebecca Lynn Baker; 5 grandchildren, Michael S. Apathy and his wife Beth, Joseph M. Apathy and his wife Brandi, Kimberly A. Apathy and her fiancé© Erik, Kristen Nicole Baker and Brent Martin Baker; 6 great-grandchildren, Aulstyn, Braxton, Christian, Olivia, and Connor Apathy and Jacob Hnasko; 1 step great-grandson, Daniel Motley; 2 sisters, Lucille Heimrich and Doris Jean Ross; 1 brother, John Jr. Tanner, and her beloved dog, Trixi.
