Joy McKee Hilton

Belews Creek – Mrs. Joy McKee Hilton, 77, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, at her residence. She was born on December 25, 1945, in Mecklenburg County to Coy Lee and Margaret Johnston McKee. Joy was a 1964 graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Belews Creek, and she loved to spend time with her church family. Joy enjoyed reading and going to country music concerts. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Hilton and her brother-in-law, Leon Bolick.

She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Elliott (husband, Britt), Christopher Hilton (wife, Stephanie), and Brian Hilton (wife, Misty); eight grandchildren, Joshua Hilton, Callie Ferguson, Oliver Hilton, Evan Elliott, Noah Elliott, Adele Hilton, Alex Bangerter, and Lacie Cease; four great grandchildren, Mason, Zion, Marlee, and Conner; two sisters, Phyllis Monteith (husband, Don) and Elizabeth Bolick; one brother-in-law, Robert Hilton (wife, Pat); one sister-in-law, Debbie Breyare (husband, Richard); numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wendie Hilton and Chrissy Hart.
