Joy Mae Ring Bowman

WALNUT COVE Mrs. Joy Mae Ring Bowman went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2012. She was born July 15, 1943 in Stokes County to the late Charles Ring and Odessie White Ring. Mrs. Bowman retired from Wake Forest Baptist Health after 26 years of service and managed Shop Rite Grocery in Walnut Cove for 17 years. Mrs. Bowman enjoyed spending time with her dog, Jezzy and swinging at Southport Beach. She was a loving and caring individual who will be missed by many. May her life, health and happiness be renewed in Heaven. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Kay Mabe and a grandson, Alexander White. Surviving are her husband, Robert Bowman of the home; her three children: Amy (Deon) Bullins, Misty (Jackie) White, and Robert Shane Bowman all of Walnut Cove; sister, Janet (Roger) Stevens of Lawsonville; five grandchildren: Charley & Joseph White, Nicholas Bullins, and Jade & Salem Bowman; special friend and caregiver, Mary Lou Harp. A Celebration of Life service will be held 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Meadows Baptist Church with Pastors Rick Craig and Ronnie Craddock officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
