Mrs. Josephine Yarbrough Mock, 96, of Lewisville went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Mrs. Mock was born June 10, 1918, to Flossie Adeline Moser and Bolton Henry Yarbrough. Josephine, Mama, Mom, Grandma, Meme loved her family, was jolly, mischievous, resourceful, possessed a strong will and relished a little controversy from time to time. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers, sharing the vegetable garden and feeding the wild birds. She was creative; especially at most kinds of needlework and in middle-age learned the art of pine needle basketry. She wove many keepsakes for family and friends and charities. She enjoyed eating breakfast regularly at Duke's Restaurant as long as her health permitted and then enjoyed their take-out at her home. She was a member of Lewisville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Mock was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Allen Harper Mock, Sr.; her parents; brother, Ralph Yarbrough; son-in-law, Aaron Gerome Tise, Jr.; and a grandson, Michael Allen Tise. She is survived by her children, Tanya Tise of Lewisville; Sandra (Ronnie) Spach of Boone; and Allen ""Zeke"" (Sandra) Mock, Jr. of Lewisville; her granddaughter, Olivia Mock of Lewisville; two step-grandchildren, Chris (Abbie) Wrights of Clemmons and Wendy (Mike) Taylor of Lewisville; two step-great-grandchildren, Hudson and Weston Wrights of Clemmons; her sisters, Thelma Boose, Melbadene Smith and Wilma Sprinkle all of Winston-Salem and her cat baby, Boss. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Lewisville United Methodist Church with Dr. Ivan Peden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:00 PM before the service at the church. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her current caregivers: Debbie, Dolores, Chris, Lorraine, and Frances. And also, to her caregivers in the past. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lewisville United Methodist Church, PO Box 305, Lewisville, NC 27023 or to a charity of the donor's choice. ""I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."" 2 Timothy 4:7. Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is assisting the family.
