Josephine Frances Gatto

Josephine Frances Gatto, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away to eternal life on October 8, 2011. Josephine was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on November 5, 1925. She was a graduate of Baton High School. Josephine was married to John S. Gatto who predeceased her in 1984. She was the loving mother of four surviving children, JoMarie Bolling and husband Sanders of Winston-Salem; Joseph J. Gatto of Winston-Salem; Charles J. Gatto of Greensboro; and John J. Gatto and wife Lynn of Raleigh. Josephine is survived by her loving grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Matthew, Nicole, Amy, Ashley, Katie and Kevin; her devoted brother, Christopher J. Scaturo of New York; and sister, Carmela (Kate) Scaturo of New Jersey. In addition, Josephine ""Aunt Pippi"" was loved and will be missed by all her surviving nieces and nephews. The family invites friends and loved ones to a special memorial visitation at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. and funeral mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Josephine to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
