Josephine Tuttle Flinchum

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Josephine Tuttle Flinchum, 100, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab Center. Josephine was born on May 2, 1915 in Stokes County to Samuel Joseph and Lola Southern Tuttle. She retired from Hanes Knitting and later worked at Food Lion in the Deli.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Flinchum; four brothers, Rex Tuttle, Bill Tuttle, Bernard Tuttle and Harold Tuttle; two sisters, Hallie Smith and Amy Banner.

Surviving are many special nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Kerner Ridge Assisted Living and Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab.
